Course Overview

The module aims to provide students with an introduction to the role and relevance of analytical techniques in logistics and supply chain management. From simple graphs to deterministic and stochastic optimisation models, it offers transferable skills to use associated techniques for the practice of these disciplines. Students will develop the ability to model and solve realistic decision problems in the context of logistics and supply chain management.

  • Daikin case study on value creation – to be prepared by students for class presentations and discussion
  • e-Procurement – approaches, benefits and limitations

  • International sourcing and total landed cost

  • The application of accounting tools and techniques to support supply chain decision-making
